Tammy L. Turner, Esq. 

Founder and CEO

With over 35 years of legal experience, Tammy L. Turner, Esq., has dedicated over 25 years of her career to education law. Having served as General Counsel for rural,  suburban and large urban jurisdictions alike, she is well versed and uniquely positioned to bring a practical, collaborative and proven business approach to public education. Her expertise includes, but is not limited to, school district operations, Title IX, Title VII, ADA, ADEA, FERPA, student and employee discipline, procurement, school construction, policy development, and charter school law.  

Knowledge

In addition to her education law career, Ms. Turner is also an experienced trial attorney in local, state and federal courts, and administrative tribunals. She has defended public entities in civil bench and jury trial matters, including race, religion, color and disability discrimination, retaliation, sexual harassment, premises liability, wrongful discharge, FMLA, tort, and breach of contract claims. She has served as Acting Chief Executive Officer for one of Maryland's largest school systems and as EEO Manager for a large public university.

Ms. Turner is known to be a stellar attorney whose creative yet practical solutions coalesces multi-faceted and complex business operations into solutions which are effective and compliant with regulatory guidelines and mandates. She is adept at identifying key issues while working within established business models to find desirable solutions that align with the strategic goals of her client.

A graduate of the Harvard University Public Education Leadership Program,  past President of the Maryland Negotiators Service, immediate past President of Springboard Community Services Board of Directors and a member of Leadership Maryland and the Greater Baltimore Committee Leadership Program, Ms. Turner has dedicated her career to public service.  She is also an experienced investigator, mediator, and certified ATIXA Civil Rights and Title IX Investigator, Coordinator, Decision Maker and Hearing Officer.
